It was remarkable how good those guitars sounded. As far as I know I was one of his very first dealers. Serial Letters MZ1 right up to MZ9 are all Mexican made guitars produced from the Ensenada factory dating from MZ1 5&6 digits 2001 to MZ9 5&6 digits 2009. Most of my customers know that I like to help small companies get off. Guitar Serial numbers that start with the following P+6 digits, Q+6 digits, R+6 digits, S+6 digits, T+6 digits are ‘Crafted In Japan’. There are Czech Republic guitars that will have Hand Crafted in the Czech Republic on the back of the headstock with a serial # (nothing to denote year.) In the late 90's (1996 I believe) the serial #'s for the USA models were stamped on the fret board after the last fret. As my bass guitars and acoustics are all fender I decided to go for this Dean. The Korean and Chinese guitar serials for the most part don't give a year or any other indication. guitar in our hobby band and would like to use the banjo on some numbers.
